Remove all metal ornaments and hand over your valuables to your accompanying person.
Parag will plan your hairline with your feedbacks and mutual understanding.
Trimming of hair from the back of your head will be done outside the theater.
You will be taken to OT. Initially you will lay with your face down during the strip or graft harvesting. It will be done under local anesthesia injection.
Oxygen and pulse monitor is applied on your finger during this procedure.
During harvesting if you want to adjust the head position, please tell the doctor so that he can stop and allow you to move.
After the harvesting is done, dressing is applied and you are asked to turn over and sit.
Local anesthesia is given over front area and the hairline is marked .
You will be send outside the OT for cup of tea an called back in 10-15 min. Till this time slivering and cutting of grafts is being done.
You are requested to lie supine i.e. on your back and to keep your head steady and inform the doctor to stop before moving or adjusting the head position. The implantation is started.
In case you feel like using the toilet, we encourage you to ask the doctor for a break. Don’t try to hold, as it raises your blood pressure and causes the implanted grafts to pop out of the skin.
There will be a lunch break during the procedure.
Procedure of 2000 to 2400 grafts usually finishes by 3-4 pm.
Doctor will give you prescription of medicines at the end of the procedure.
Do not wear ’ t’ shirt or any other clothing that needs to be pulled over your head on the day of surgery.
